Geoff's blog...

Well, two blogs, actually...

Hi and welcome to my blog

Geoff MayesThanks to my parents I have a varied array of passions. I’m a safari guide, a photographer, a social media addict and a motor rally codriver…. I don’t believe in doing things in half measures and am passionate about everything I do in life.

Born in Zimbabwe way back in the 70’s I’ve experienced some truly amazing things in life. From training as a safari guide in the land of my birth, to leaving Zimbabwe at the height of the turmoil, I’ve experienced the highs and the lows of living in Africa. I’ve worked in the most incredible places, from the Selous Game Reserve, a remote wilderness in Southern Tanzania that is larger than Switzerland, to walking with elephants on both sides of the Lower Zambezi. I’ve faced angry lions, caught venomous cobras and been pushed over by affectionate rhinos…..I’ve worked for the Mayor of London, driven from Wales to Scotland with two ferrets, drunk afternoon tea with Sir Stirling Moss, been paid to drive incredible sports cars in Europe and travelled around the world as a motorsport photographer.

But whilst living this life of adrenalin I never forgot that I was a man of Africa…. And now I’m home and happy to share my passion for life with anyone willing to read this blog…. So sit back and enjoy!

This is my story… the story about a 'mayes' in africa.
